Monsoon Sunset Over the Tianzi Mountains

Often when I paint land and sky, I have no idea what the painting will look like when it’s complete. When I got to a certain point with this painting, I was very puzzled as to the shape of the mountains. I did an internet search of the mountains and found I had painted mountains in China, the same ones they used in the movie 'Avatar'. It’s a joy to work in my studio and travel all over the world including sometimes even outer space or below the surface of the sea.
