Little Africa
This small painting came from an imagined place—one shaped by study, curiosity, and respect rather than direct experience. I’ve always been interested in cultures where art, ritual, and daily life are inseparable, where movement, sound, and story carry meaning far beyond words.
In Little Africa, I found myself painting from the inside out. The figures, the rhythm, the heat of the day—it all emerged intuitively, as if the painting were asking to be witnessed rather than explained. What mattered most was the feeling of presence: the energy of people moving together, the dust rising beneath their feet, the sense of connection between the physical world and something unseen.
This is not a literal scene, but a meditation on shared human impulses—the need to celebrate, to honor the hunt, to dance, to belong to something larger than oneself.
This original acrylic painting on canvas measures 10" x 8" and is available here.
A quiet tribute to rhythm, ritual, and the universal language of movement.
