The Sin Eater
This is a crucifixion painting, but it’s not just about suffering—it’s about what it means to take on the weight of the world. The idea of the sin eater has always stayed with me—someone who carries what others cannot bear, who steps into the darkness so others can find the light.
The figure hangs on a rough-hewn cross, suspended between earth and sky, caught in that space where the divine and the mortal meet. Light and shadow move across the canvas, pulling you into the moment, into the weight of it all. It’s a piece meant for contemplation, meant to sit with you long after you’ve looked away.
This painting was exhibited at the Tubac Center for the Arts during the Members’ Juried Exhibit in Tubac, Arizona. For years, it remained in my private collection. Now, I’m offering it for sale—an opportunity to own a piece that speaks to the depths of sacrifice, redemption, and grace.
At 48" x 60", this acrylic on canvas painting carries the gravity of its subject—both in scale and in meaning.
