Guardian Angel
In the quiet of my studio, I contemplated the finished painting before me. Brushstrokes of warm colors formed a captivating image. As I looked at the canvas, a deeper truth resonated within me. This was not merely an angelic figure watching over me; it was a profound representation of my mother, enveloped in the heavenly light of her eternal home. In this painting, I had captured her essence, her spirit in perfect harmony with the divine. She exuded a gentle radiance, her tranquil smile speaking volumes without the need for words. It was as if the warm hues around her emanated from her very being, reflecting the boundless love and light she carried within. This was the first time I set out to paint an angel on purpose. It’s a painting for which I used no model, picture, or outside subject. The challenge for me is to paint from within. I remember both the pain and the struggle painting this piece, until it got to the place where it said, “Enough”.
