Young Wolf
During the first sweat lodge I did, I was sitting opposite the Shaman who was conducting it. I was at the furthest spot from the tent flap. And. I. Felt. Like. I. Was. Dying. The heat was so intense. As I was getting ready to lay down trying to get away from the heat, I saw in my mind’s eye a young wolf walk through the flap of the tent, past the Shaman and all the other people, over the hot stones in the middle, and right into my chest. I sat up. Renewed. The Shaman chuckled quietly and said, “ahh, young wolf.” I was able to easily finish the sweat lodge with the renewed energy from my new animal spirit or guide, Young Wolf. Since that time, Young Wolf has grown. This painting represents the young wolf who first walked into my life.
